NATIONAL GALLERIES OF SCOTLAND JUNIOR CURATOR - PAOLOZZI ARCHIVE (BAND 6)
(Fixed term three year appointment)
This is an exciting career opening for a post-graduate with experience of
20th-century art history. The main purpose of this post is to catalogue
onto computer the major archive of the work of Sir Eduardo Paolozzi at
the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art in Edinburgh. Other
opportunities include curating four displays using the Paolozzi
Collection.
It is envisaged the post-holder will be able to contribute to a new
understanding of post-war British art. The care of a collection will be
central to this work, as well as publishing articles.
Funded by the Leverhulme Trust, this post has been set up under the joint
auspices of the National Galleries of Scotland and the Visual Arts
Research Institute, Edinburgh (VARIE) which will provide an inter-
institutional framework with links to academic resources and leading
scholars, adding a greater depth to the curatorial research and its
dissemination.
Salary: £16,000 per annum (under review)
