Research Studentships (six)
The University's newly established Centre for Research in Art,
Technologies and Design (CREATED) has developed six PhD studentships
funded by SPUR2 to develop both practice and theory-based research
outputs in collaboration with existing established international
researchers.
Applications are invited for research studentships in:
Art and its Locations (Practice)
Art and its Locations (Theory)
Feminism and International Discourses of Art
Hybrid Textile Configurations
Technical Textile Design
Interior Architecture

Candidates should hold a first or upper second class honours degree
in Fine Art, Fine Art Theory, Textiles, Design or a cognate area.
Successful candidates will enrol as of 1 April 2004, on a full-time
programme of research studies leading to the award of the degree of
Doctor of Philosophy. The studentships will comprise fees and an
annual stipend of £12,000 and will be awarded for a period of up to
three years subject to satisfactory progress. The studentships are
tenable in the School of Art and Design at the Belfast campus.

The closing date for receipt of completed applications is 13 February 2004.
Interviews will be held during the week commencing 27 February 2004.
Note travel expenses paid from point of entry to UK only.
