CALL FOR CONTRIBUTORS - Macmillan Reference USA
Encyclopedia of Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity
Editor in Chief: Dinah L. Shelton
Board Editors: Howard Adelman; Frank Chalk; Alexandre Kiss; William A.
Schabas
The editorial board of the Encyclopedia of Genocide and Crimes Against
Humanity, a forthcoming three-volume encyclopedia from Macmillan
Reference USA, seeks contributors for an article on "Art as Propaganda"
and "Music as Promotion of Genocide." Specific scopes will be provided,
although they are subject to discussion, and the due date will be March
22, 2003.
The set is to be written at the level of an intelligent general
reader--its intended audience is upper-level high school students
through four-year university undergraduates and public library patrons.
Besides an honorarium, the author's name will appear after each entry; a
list of contributors will include all authors' names, affiliations, and
entry titles. We are looking for high-quality, unbiased articles by
experts with relevant experience.
Please reply to Macmillan editor Justine Ciovacco at
justine.ciovaccothomson.com if you are interested in writing one of
these articles. Include your institutional affiliation or a brief CV
with your reply. If you are a graduate student, please include the name
of your thesis supervisor. Upon authorization by the editorial board, we
will contact invited authors to provide more information about the set,
confirm your assignment, and provide you with the proposed scope of the
entry, a contributor's manual, and a contract.
