Diskussionsrunde an der Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der
Wissenschaftem zu: "Neue Wege zur Wissenschaft"
Within the program "New ways to Science" the Schering Foundation invites
you to a lecture by Eduardo Kac. The Brazilian artist and theorist,
Eduardo Kac, is concidered to be one of the most famous media artists of
the last two decades. He operates at the interface of art and genetic
engineering. With his work Kac creates a new art form: the concept of
Transgenic Art. By creating transgenic animals, e.g. GFP Bunny (2000), a
green-glowing rabbit, and integrating them domestically and socially, it
is Kac´s declared intention to draw attention to the cultural effects
and implications of a technology that is not visually accessible and
bring these to the public´s attention for debate.
