The Biblioteca Hertziana in Rome http://www.biblhertz.it/neu/ will be
closed probably for three to five years of necessary renovations beginning
the 21st of December 2001. Dr. Hopkins a.hopkinsbsrome.it of the British
School in Rome kindly has initiated a plea to us all to write to the mayor
of Rome, On. Veltroni, in order to avoid this disaster, and to find an
alternative location to keep the library's rich sources available to
scholars. Equally as kindly, Dott.ssa Patrizia Cavazzini
patrizia.cavazzinilibero.it has consented to
collect the signed collective letters, and forward them.

contact me, and I will send you a copy of the letter for "signature," and
transmission to Dott.ssa Cavazzini.
