Africa: Trade, Traffic, Collections

Das übergreifende Thema der Ausgabe des JAMS ist die Entwicklung des Marktes für Kulturgüter aus dem afrikanischen Kontinent seit der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts. Damit verbunden ist eine sich verändernde Wahrnehmung solcher Objekte als Handelsware und Sammelgut, vom „ethnographischen“ Objekt zu „primitiver Kunst“ bis hin zum heutigen Markt für afrikanische Objekte.
Die neue Ausgabe des JAMS wurde von der Gastherausgeberin Dr. Felicity Bodenstein konzipiert.
