Am Seminar für Kunstgeschichte und Filmwissenschaft der Philosophischen Fakultät der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena ist zum 01.01.2021 eine Stelle eines Wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiters (m/w/d) zu besetzen.

Die Stelle ist der Forschungsstelle Europäische Romantik zugeordnet, an der eine aus Mitteln des Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz-Preises 2020 finanzierte Forschungsgruppe zum Thema "Europäische Romantik oder Romantiken in Europa? Zur Frage der Einheit der Romantik in den bildenden Künsten und der Ästhetik des frühen 19. Jahrhunderts" eingerichtet wird. Die Forschungsgruppe soll ausgehend von Fallstudien im Bereich der bildenden Künste aus verschiedenen europäischen Sprachräumen nach der europäischen Dimension der Romantik fragen.

Ihre Aufgaben:
- Ein Schwerpunkt der Tätigkeit liegt auf der eigenständigen Bearbeitung eines größeren Forschungsvorhabens zur Kunstgeschichte, Kunsttheorie oder Ästhetik im Umfeld der europäischen Romantik (Postdoc-Projekt oder Habilitationsprojekt).
- Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt umfasst die Koordination der Forschungsstelle Europäische Romantik (Veranstaltungen, Publikationen, Finanzplanung, interne Organisation, Wissenschaftskommunikation etc.).

Unsere Anforderungen:
- Erwartet wird ein abgeschlossenes wissenschaftliches Hochschulstudium und eine besonders qualifizierte Promotion im Fach Kunstgeschichte (oder in einer benachbarten Disziplin mit hoher Affinität zu Fragen der Ästhetik, Kunst- oder Bildtheorie).
- Zudem wird erwartet, dass einer der Forschungsschwerpunkte der Kunst, Kunsttheorie oder Ästhetik der Romantik oder der Zeit um 1800 gewidmet ist.
- Gewünscht wird ein vertieftes Interesse an theoretischen Fragestellungen.

At the Seminar for Art History and Film Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena, we offer a Postdoctoral Researcher Position (m/f/d), starting 1 January 2021.

The position is assigned to the Research Unit "European Romanticism", where a research group funded by the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize 2020 starts working on the topic "European Romanticism or Romantics in Europe? Questioning the unity of Romanticism in the visual arts and the aesthetics of the early 19th century". The research group will use case studies in the field of the visual arts from different countries and regions to explore the European dimension of Romanticism. The doctoral projects, which will be worked on within the framework of the advertised positions, are intended to focus on case studies that contribute to the research group by dealing with questions concerning Romanticism in France, England, Germany, Italy, Scandinavia or Eastern Europe.

Your responsibilities:
- One focus will be on independent work on a larger research project on art history, art theory or aesthetics in the context of European Romanticism (postdoc project or habilitation project).
- Another task is the coordination of the Research Centre "European Romanticism" (events, publications, financial planning, internal organisation, scientific communication, etc.)

Requirements:
- You are expected to have a university degree and a particularly qualified doctorate in art history (or in a related discipline with a high affinity to questions of aesthetics, art or image theory).
- It is also expected that one of the fields of research is or will be devoted to art, art theory or aesthetics of the Romantic period or the period around 1800.
- A deepened interest in theoretical issues would be advantageous.

- Der Schwerpunkt der Tätigkeit liegt auf eigenständigen Forschungen zur Kunstgeschichte, Kunsttheorie oder Ästhetik der europäischen Romantik im Rahmen eines Promotionsprojektes, dessen Durchführung und Betreuung an der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität erfolgen soll.
- Erwartet wird die aktive Beteiligung an Aktivitäten der Forschungsstelle Europäische Romantik.

Unsere Anforderungen:
- Erwartet wird ein zur Promotion berechtigendes wissenschaftliches Hochschulstudium im Fach Kunstgeschichte (oder in einer benachbarten Disziplin mit hoher Affinität zu Fragen der Ästhetik, Kunst- oder Bildtheorie).
