Position Summary:
The Department of Art, Art History, and Design at Michigan State University is currently establishing a pool of fixed-term assistant professors and instructors. These positions will be filled per course/per semester, on an as-needed basis. Applicants in this pool are reviewed when the program has an immediate need to fill a vacancy as needed within two years to begin as early as August 16, 2019.

Duties:
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in art history in both the Art History program and in MSU’s Integrated Studies in Arts and Humanities program. We are open to all fields, with a preference for Classical Art and Archaeology; Asian art and visual culture; Byzantine, Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque art and architecture of Europe; architectural history; and Islamic art.

Required Degree:
Doctorate -art history or a related discipline

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
ABD or Ph.D. in art history or a related discipline.
Experience teaching at the college level.
