The Creative and Cultural Industries Faculty of the University of Portsmouth, UK, is currently inviting applications to a PhD bursary competition, covering fees and a maintenance stipend. Topics including visual and material culture and their histories are welcome, especially when concerned with impacts and applications beyond academia and global challenges (see the University's Research and Innovation Strategy: https://www.port.ac.uk/research). Interdisciplinary and practice-based methods are also encouraged.
There are respective bursary schemes for either EU/UK students or international candidates. Please see the following information: https://www.findaphd.com/phds/programme/faculty-of-creative-and-cultural-industries-funded-phd-opportunities-for-2019-entry/?p4241
It is recommended that applicants discuss beforehand their prospective
topic with me (marius.kwintport.ac.uk) or another of the named
subject-contacts in the School of Art, Design and Performance.
