International Conference
The present international conference entitled “Art History in Georgia: Past – Present – Future”. It is dedicated to the 100 year anniversary of the Tbilisi State University.
Being one of the important disciplines of the humanities, major goal of the art history in Georgia was to study rich cultural heritage of the country. Foundation of the Tbilisi State University was crucial in development of study and search of Georgian works of art – Cabinet of the Art Historical Studies that was founded by Giorgi Chubinashvili at the Tbilisi State University marked the beginning of the study of art in Georgia. This process, which began in the Tbilisi State University was later spread through the whole country and nowadays is continuing in the various high education institutions, scientific centers and museums.
