Submissions are now open for inclusion in this multi-disciplinary conference from researchers and practitioners in Indigenous beadwork in Australia. We are looking for presenters in anthropology, archaeology, art history and fine art. Papers proposed should include a wide variety of research approaches and case studies and potentially be from any region as long as there is some potential application in an Australian context. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander beadworkers from across Australia are encouraged to submit proposals to demonstrate and/or discuss their usage of glass and/or natural seed beads in Australia.
Submissions are due by 30 July, 2017.
There is a small amount of funds for the support of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander presenters. Please contact the organisers for more details. Sorry, there are no funds for international travel.
This conference is funded by the College of Arts and Social Sciences and supported by the Centre for Digital Humanities Research, at the Australian National University.
