The Samuel H. Kress Foundation has once again awarded the Middlebury Language Schools five fellowships, each covering a summer of study (full tuition, room and board) in one of the following languages: French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. Travel expenses and books are not included in the fellowship.
The fellowships are intended for graduate students in art history with a proposed focus on European art history or graduate students in art conservation. Preference is given to graduate students who have recently been accepted to, or are currently enrolled in, the corresponding program at a PhD-granting institution in the United States. In exceptional cases, advanced undergraduates in art history who are preparing for graduate study in the same field may also be considered. Details about the scholarship application can be found at http://www.middlebury.edu/ls/finaid/fellowships/kress/.
The deadline to apply for the Kress Fellowships is December 15, 2016. Students must also have a completed Language Schools application on file. Applications can be found at http://www.middlebury.edu/ls/apply.
