To mark its 20th anniversary, the Association Friends of Heritage – Amici hereditatis is organizing a professional conference titled "Heritage and New Audiences", which will take place on October 13, 2025, in the Small Hall of the Public Open University in Ivanić-Grad.
This anniversary conference aims to explore cultural and natural heritage not only as a legacy of the past but also as a dynamic space for dialogue, innovation, and social connection. The focus is on audiences — new generations, new needs, and new approaches to presenting heritage and engaging communities in heritage processes.
Thematic areas of the conference include, but are not limited to:
- innovative interpretations and forms of heritage presentation
- preservation and presentation of heritage within local communities
- heritage in education and youth engagement
- digital tools and participatory approaches
- interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary practices
- examples of collaboration between institutions, civil society, and local communities
The conference welcomes contributions from professionals across cultural, educational, scientific, artistic, and civil society sectors, as well as from students, researchers, and all those actively reflecting on the role of heritage in contemporary society.
We invite you to submit an abstract (up to 500 words, including 3-5 keywords) along with a short author biography (up to 200 words) no later than September 1, 2025, via the online form:
