The British Library is recruiting a Curator of Classical and Byzantine
Studies on a 3 year fixed term contract.
The British Library holds an outstanding collection of manuscripts and
printed works relating to the Classical and Byzantine world. As curator,
you will use innovative and traditional ways of interpreting and
presenting these collections through online resources and engagement
with academic and general users. You will also manage the third phase of
the Greek Manuscripts Digitisation Project.
With a post-graduate degree, or equivalent, in a relevant subject, you
will have extensive experience of research in Classical and/or Byzantine
Studies. Strong knowledge of Ancient Greek and Latin, excellent written
and oral communication skills in English, and the ability to promote the
collections to a wide range of audiences are essential.

Salary scale: £31,076 to £35,202 per annum.
Hours: Full time, 36 hours per week
