The EHESS Summer School 2024 is to be held between July 1 and 5, 2024 in Paris.

Organized by the International Relations Office, this event is aimed at doctoral students enrolled at universities outside France. Under the scientific direction of Anne Lafont (CRAL, CEHTA), the theme of this year's summer school is "Art and the Social Sciences", and will follow four different axes: The Social Sciences of Art, Art and Politics, Materials, Forms and Styles, Transmissions and Heritage.
It will be an opportunity to bring together doctoral students who wish to explore in greater depth the ways the visual arts can be studied from various social sciences’ perspectives (anthropology, history, sociology) or disciplines associated to its interdisciplinary project (law, economics, philosophy). We will also be addressing how art fits into the whole range of human activities, even if it may need to be given a special place within them. And if so, how?

Applications are open until January 31, 2024.
