[1] Lecturer in Conservation of Contemporary Art & Media (two part-time posts)

The History of Art Department at UCL (University College London) is seeking to appoint two part-time Lecturers in Conservation of Contemporary Art & Media, to start on 1 August 2023.
As teaching and research-active members of the Department, the postholders will work with the Programme Director to deliver the MSc Conservation of Contemporary Art & Media and some Continuing Professional Development teaching, based within the programme’s laboratory and media suite at UCL East.
To cover the range of fields represented by the programme, we are looking to appoint Lecturers in two distinct but complementary areas of specialism. One will offer teaching focused on the science of contemporary materials, and the examination, analysis and conservation of contemporary sculpture and design objects, while the other will contribute teaching focused on the examination, analysis and conservation of time-based media works of art and design objects.

The History of Art Department at UCL (University College London) is seeking to appoint a full-time lecturer with expertise in one or more of the following regions: East Asia (including Japan and China), Southeast Asia, the Middle East, North and/or West Africa, Oceania and the Caribbean, as well as diasporic communities of these regions. This post provides an opportunity to develop teaching and research that will complement and enhance existing expertise in arts and visual culture of South and East Africa, South Asia, the Americas and Europe. The successful appointee will have a relevant PhD and a track record of publications and research excellence in their field. The position will begin on 1 September 2023.

The Department of History of Art at UCL (University College London) is seeking to appoint a full-time Lecturer (Grade 8) in the History of Art, Materials and Technology, to begin on 1 September 2023.
The successful candidate will have a background in heritage or material science, conservation, art history or associated fields. The successful candidate would be capable of teaching in and overseeing the running of the Material Studies Laboratory. They would join a thriving department with close links to London’s museums and gallery networks and a university with its own important collections. They would contribute to teaching, take on administrative responsibilities, be research active and generate research income by actively pursuing and applying for appropriate grants.
