COURSE PROGRAMME
The Salzburg International Summer Academy of Fine Arts invites applications to its programme for 2022. Besides holding courses with renowned artists such as Anna Daučíková, Rossella Biscotti, Flaka Haliti, Małgorzata Mirga-Tas or Tracey Rose the Summer Academy also offers several courses in the field of ART AND RESEARCH with: Cosmin Costinas/Inti Guerrero, Léuli Eshrāghi, Jennifer Higgie, Angelo Plessas and ruangrupa/Ayşe Güleç.

COSMIN COSTINAS/INTI GUERRERO
Exhibition-making and the Multiplicity of Artistic Languages
18–30 July 2022 (hybrid classroom)
This course is built around the premise that exhibition-making is a distinct method of generating meaning. The instructors will share their experiences, working primarily within Asia-Pacific and Latin American contexts.

LÉULI ESHRĀGHI
Saltwater Sensibilities: Poetry and Movements of the Great Ocean
25 July–6 August 2022 (hybrid classroom)
Before and during this course centered on saltwater sensibilities, participants will be immersed in Indigenous poetry and performance art from the Great Ocean. Extracts from recent works will form the basis of our gestural and intellectual inquiry.

Art critique

ANGELO PLESSAS
Experimental Education Protocol 4: the Ethereal Forest
1–13 August 2022 (hybrid classroom)
This course employs an alternative educational methodology in which the participants will connect the dots of various places/people/situations with the concept of eco-ontology, prompting an ontological inquiry into what is natural/physical, what is ethereal/intangible, or else prompting reconceptions of what it is for humanity to exist and survive.

RUANGRUPA/ AYSE GÜLEÇ
Harvest the Harvests
08–15 August 2022 (Kassel)
Together with Ayşe Güleç, ruangrupa will reflect on collective/community oriented practices and on continuing the "Lumbung" idea on site in Kassel, as well as examining the curatorial strategies of documenta fifteen.

COURSE FEES
One-week course EUR 420 (EUR 340), two-weeks course EUR 640 (EUR 480). Does not include artistic materials, if needed. Reduced fees are eligible for students, welfare recipients or others, and members of the Verein der Freunde.

APPLICATION
Anyone interested (PhD students, research assistants, curators, art critics, freelancers, etc.) can apply as no degrees are required and will submit to a selection process in which the instructors decide on who will be accepted. All applications received till 31 May 2022 will be treated equally in the selection process; after 1 June 2022, they are considered according to the number of available places.

SCHOLARSHIPS
The Summer Academy offers numerous scholarships, most of them covering the participation fee, while some include also travel and accommodation expenses. A jury, together with the instructors, will award the scholarships. The application deadline is 29 April 2022.
