Das 1951 gegründete Schweizerische Institut für Kunstwissenschaft
(SIK-ISEA) ist ein kunsthistorisches und kunsttechnologisches
Kompetenzzentrum von internationalem Rang. Schwerpunkte der Aktivitäten
sind Forschung, Dokumentation, Wissensvermittlung und Information in den
Bereichen bildende Kunst und Kunstbetrieb sowie Kunsttechnologie. Das
Kunstschaffen in der Schweiz steht dabei im Zentrum. Mit dem 2008
lancierten Research Promotion Programme positioniert sich SIK-ISEA als
Institute for Advanced Study für internationale Programme und
Förderprojekte. Der Sitz des Instituts befindet sich in Zürich. Zusammen
mit der Universität Lausanne betreibt es seit 1988 eine Zweigstelle in der
Romandie und beschäftigt zurzeit 65 Mitarbeitende. Die Finanzierung wird
durch Eigenmittel, öffentliche Subventionen sowie private und
institutionelle Zuwendungen sichergestellt.

Aufgrund der bevorstehenden Pensionierung des Direktors, Dr. Hans-Jörg
Heusser, sucht der Stiftungsrat per 1. Juni 2010 eine/einen

Direktorin/Direktor

Dem Stiftungsrat von SIK-ISEA unterstellt, nimmt die gesuchte
Persönlichkeit die Gesamtleitung des Instituts wahr. Sie erarbeitet die
strategischen Grundlagen und ist für deren Umsetzung verantwortlich. Sie
steht für die Einhaltung der finanziellen Zielsetzungen und für die
Mittelbeschaffung im öffentlich-rechtlichen und im privaten Bereich ein.
Dabei wird sie vom kaufmännischen Vizedirektor, einem zukünftigen
wissenschaftlichen Vizedirektor und der Institutsleitung unterstützt.

Die Direktorin/der Direktor leitet die Forschungstätigkeit von SIK-ISEA
und ist für das Research Promotion Programme zuständig. Die gesuchte
Persönlichkeit vertritt das Institut in der nationalen und internationalen
Wissensgemeinschaft und koordiniert die Vernetzung mit Universitäten,
Fachhochschulen und verwandten Institutionen im In- und Ausland. Sie
repräsentiert die Position des Instituts als wissenschaftliches Forum zum
fachlichen Erfahrungsaustausch und initiiert Symposien, Kolloquien und
Vorträge.

Erwartet wird ein akademisches Profil mit Promotion und mehrjähriger
professioneller Tätigkeit in den Bereichen Kunst, Wissenschaft, Museen und
Management. Führungserfahrung in einer vergleichbaren Institution ist
unerlässlich. Voraussetzung sind ausgezeichnete Kenntnisse des
internationalen Kunst-, Forschungs- und Hochschulbetriebs. Die zukünftige
Direktorin/der zukünftige Direktor ist offen, kommunikativ, sprachgewandt
in deutsch, französisch und englisch und zeichnet sich überdies durch
soziale Kompetenz, Leistungsbereitschaft und wissenschaftliche Kreativität
aus.

Heusser, Dr, le Conseil de Fondation cherche pour le 1er juin 2010 une/un

Directrice/Directeur

Subordonnée au Conseil de Fondation de SIK-ISEA, la personnalité
recherchée sera en charge de la direction générale de l'Institut. Elle
élabore les bases stratégiques et sera responsable de leur application.
Elle veille à l'observation des objectifs financiers et à l'acquisition de
moyens dans le secteur de droit public et dans le secteur privé. Elle est
encadrée par le vice-directeur commercial, un vice-directeur scientifique
et la direction de l'Institut.

La directrice/Le directeur dirige les activités de recherche de SIK-ISEA
et elle/il est la personne compétente pour le Research Promotion
Programme. La personnalité recherchée représente l'Institut auprès de la
communauté scientifique nationale et internationale et assume la
coordination du réseau de contacts avec les universités, les hautes écoles
spécialisées et les institutions apparentées en Suisse et dans le monde.
Elle représente l'Institut auprès de la communauté scientifique dans le
cadre d'échanges professionnels et initie des symposiums, des colloques et
des conférences.

Profil souhaité: profil académique avec doctorat et une expérience
professionnelle de plusieurs années dans le secteur de l'art, de la
science, des musées et du management. Une expérience comme directeur d'une
institution comparable est indispensable. Une excellente connaissance des
activités de l'art international, de la recherche et des hautes écoles est
nécessaire. La future directrice/Le futur directeur est une personnalité
ouverte, à l'aise dans la communication, possède une bonne maîtrise de
l'allemand, du français et de l'anglais. Elle/Il se distingue en outre par
une compétence sociale, une disposition à la performance et une créativité
scientifique.

The Swiss Institute for Art Research (SIK-ISEA), which was founded in
1951, is a centre of excellence for art history and art technology of
international standing. The focal areas of the Institute's work are
research, documentation, knowledge transfer and the provision of
information in the fields of the visual arts and the art sector, and also
art technology. Artistic work in Switzerland features at the forefront.
With the Research Promotion Programme that was launched in 2008, SIK-ISEA
has positioned itself as an Institute for Advanced Study, conducting
international programmes and funded projects. The Institute has its
headquarters in Zurich. In conjunction with the University of Lausanne, it
has had a subsidiary in the French-speaking part of Switzerland since
1988, and currently has 65 employees. The Institute is financed through
its own resources, public subsidies and institutional contributions.

In view of the imminent retirement of Institute Managing Director, Dr.
Hans-Jörg Heusser, the Foundation's Board of Trustees is seeking to
appoint a

Managing Director (m/f)

as per 1 June 2010. Reporting to the SIK-ISEA Foundation's Board of
Trustees, the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall
management of the Institute. He/she will establish the strategic
principles and be responsible for their implementation. He/she will ensure
that the financial targets are met and engage in fundraising from both the
public and private sectors. In this, he/she will be supported by the
Deputy Commercial Director, a future Deputy Scientific Director and the
Institute management.

The Managing Director will lead research activity within SIK-ISEA and be
in charge of the Research Promotion Programme. The successful candidate
will represent the Institute within the national and international
knowledge community and coordinate networking with the traditional
universities, the universities of applied sciences and related
institutions both within Switzerland and abroad. He/she will represent the
Institute's position as a scientific forum for the pooling of specialist
experience and initiate symposia, colloquia and lectures.

The future Managing Director will have an academic profile with a
doctorate and several years' professional experience in the fields of art,
science, museums and management. Management experience in a comparable
institute is indispensable. Excellent knowledge of the international art,
research and university world is required. The future Managing Director
will be open-minded, communicative, proficient in German, French and
English and will additionally possess social competence, motivation and
scientific creativity.
