Dear colleagues
I am trying to ascertain the reason(s) for, or events leading up to
Monet asking John Leslie Breck to leave Giverny in 1891. Breck had
attempted to court Monet's step-daughter, Blanche Hoschedé but was
refused permission to marry her. I would be grateful for any
references to sources which discuss this, as Breck died shortly after
leaving no letters or diaries.
