2009

Deadline: May 5, 2008

2009 Los Angeles, 19-21 March 2009
UCLA & The Getty Museum, Malibu

For panel(s) concerning all aspects of emblem studies, please submit an

Urbana-Champaign by May 5, 2008.

We are seeking papers treating traditional aspects of emblematics, such
as emblems and national traditions, emblems and art history, literature,
and history of the book, love emblems, political emblems, applied
emblems, and more. We welcome new approaches to emblem studies,
including gender perspectives, global emblems, as well as other possible
perspectives. And last but not least, scholarly papers on emblem
digitization are especially desired. Since we will be meeting at the
Getty which has significant emblem collections, we are making an strong
effort to represent the field of emblem studies well.

Please send either individual abstracts or suggestions for an entire
panel to mwadeuiuc.edu.
