Nineteenth-Century Art

The Fifth Annual Graduate Student Symposium in Nineteenth-Century Art will
be held on Friday, March 21, 2008, at the CUNY Graduate Center, 365 Fifth
Avenue, New York, from 10 AM to 4 PM.

The symposium is co-sponsored by the Association of Historians of
Nineteenth-Century Art (AHNCA), the Graduate Program in Art History of the
City University of New York, and the Art History Program of Seton Hall
University.

Graduate students are invited to submit proposals for 20-minute papers on
topics in the history of art and visual culture of the long
nineteenth-century (1789-1914). Proposals that give evidence of new
scholarship and originality of approach are especially encouraged. Please
send the following materials, as e-mail attachments, to the selection
committee (Chupetrashu.edu, pmainardigc.cuny.edu, SEdidinnyhistory.org,
emansfiesewanee.edu).
brief c.v. (2-page maximum)
cover sheet with name, school, title of paper, and name of faculty adviser
on the proposed paper
2-page abstract
To be considered, proposals must be received by January 31, 2008.
Invitations to participate will be sent out by email before February 15,
2008.
