TERRA SUMMER RESIDENCY IN GIVERNY 2008

Terra Foundation for American Art
Musée d'Art Américain Giverny, France

June 16 - August 10, 2008

Application deadline: January 15 , 2008.

Created by the Chicago-based Terra Foundation for American Art, the Terra
Summer Residency in Giverny provides artists and scholars with an
opportunity for the independent study of American art within a framework of
interdisciplinary exchange and dialogue, and in a site rich in cultural
significance.

For the eighth consecutive year, the program offers an eight-week
residential fellowship to ten artists and scholars from the United States
and Europe. These fellowships are awarded to artists who have completed
their studies at Masters level and doctoral students engaged in research on
American art or transatlantic artistic exchange. The residency, held in the
Musée d¹Art Américain Giverny from June 16 to August 10, 2008, seeks to
widen the creative and research horizons of resident fellows, invites them
to reflect on different methodologies and interpretive models and gives them
the opportunity to create an intellectual network for lifelong exchange.
Throughout the program, senior artists and art historians will be in
residence to mentor fellows and pursue their own work.

Terra Summer Residency fellows are awarded a stipend of 5000 Dollar, and
artists receive an additional 200 Dollar for the purchase of materials.

For information on the conditions of eligibility, application forms and a
description of the residency facilities, please consult the Musée d'Art
Américain website at http://www.maag.org, or
contact the Terra Summer
Residency offices at tsrterraamericanart.org.
