I am in the process of preparing a scholarly article and in this context,
I am trying to trace the present whereabouts and the owner(s) of the
painting 'Der Rufer II' (The Caller II) by Willi Sitte of 1964 (150 x 120
cm, oil on board with collage elements).
The work was widely exhibited and reproduced in the GDR. In the 1970s its
location was given as the Staatliche Galerie Moritzburg. According to
several individuals it was in the possession of Horst Sindermann in the
1980s, but it is unclear what happened to the painting after Sindermann's
death in 1990 and the 'Wende'. A more recent catalogue gives the location
as in a private collection. Having consulted several people and
institutions to no avail, I would be very grateful if anyone could help
with information about the whereabouts of this work so that I can request
permission to publish a black and white reproduction of the image.

Ich bereite zur Zeit einen wissenschaftlichen Aufsatz vor und in dem
Zusammenhang suche ich seit langer Zeit den/die heutige Besitzer(in) von
dem Gemaelde 'Der Rufer II' von Willi Sitte von 1964 (Oel / Mischtechnik auf
Hartfaser, 150 x 120 cm).
In und um 1972 war laut Ausstellungskataloge das Bild in der Sammlung
Staatliche Galerie Moritzburg. In den 80er Jahren war es, laut
verschiedenen Quellen in den Besitz von Horst Sindermann gekommen, aber
man weiss nicht was spaeter (nach Sindermann's Tod und nach der Wende) mit
dem Gemaelde passiert ist. Mitte der 90er wurde in einem Katalog das Bild
als im "Privatbesitz" angegeben, aber ohne weitere Angaben. Nachdem ich
schon diversen Personen und Institutionen befragt habe, waere ich sehr
dankbar, wenn jemand vielleicht weiss wo und in wessen Besitz sich das
Bild heute befindet, damit ich um Reproduktionserlaubnis bitten kann.
