Job Description
The Archaeology and Art History Department at Eastern Mediterranean
University invites applications for an assistant professorship in Art
History and an assistant professorship in Archaeology, to commence Sept.
2006. Though the department would welcome research interests in this
region, this is not a requirement and all applicants, in all fields of
research and teaching, are encouraged to apply. In addition to
contributing survey courses and core courses in the major program the
candidate may be teaching in the university\'s new General Education
Program. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide
upper level courses in his/her area of specialization.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will teach 4 courses per semester depending on
his / her research and publishing record. Applicants must be able to work
with a student body whose second language is English. A Ph.D. is required
and a strong publishing record is preferable.

Term of Employment
EMU offers a competitive salary. The initial appointment is for eleven
months starting September 15, 2006, renewable for two years, contingent
upon successful performance.
