The Victoria and Albert Museum and the Royal College of Art jointly run a
postgraduate programme in the History of Design from 1400 to the present. The
Museum is seeking a highly innovative scholar to lead the teaching and
research for the two MA specialisms , Renaissance Decorative Arts and
Culture 1400-1650, and Design and Material Culture 1650 to the Present, and
to contribute to the Museum's overall programme of research policies,
strategies and methods.

The post demands a high level of academic leadership with a profound
understanding of the issues relating to object-based research. The post
holder will have a strong national and international reputation for
scholarship and demonstrate an inspiring approach to teaching and research.
