Modern and Contemporary Art History, Golding Endowed Program:

Assistant Professor, specialist in Modern and Contemporary Art. Begin
August, 2004.

Nine-month tenure track position. Competitive salary commensurate with
qualifications and experience. Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. (ABDs will be
considered; if Ph.D. not awarded by start date, appointment will be at
Instructor rank.) Art Historian specializing in Modern and Contemporary
Art. Knowledge of critical theory. High level of commitment to research,
promise of scholarly productivity, and excellent teaching ability.
Preferred qualifications: teaching experience at undergraduate and
graduate levels, scholarly publications, and focus encompassing art and
culture beyond the U.S. and Europe. Responsibilities: Teach two classes
per semester, graduate thesis supervision (MA), establish and maintain a
high level of research activity, significantly support the ongoing
development of the art history area and M.A. program, represent the School
in matters pertinent to the university and community, and serve on
relevant committees.
