MA in Art History in London (Richmond American International University)

WALLIS ROBERT

Dear h-arthist,

I write to the list in the hope that list subscribers will consider referring
students who are ready for graduate study and seeking a challenging MA in Art
History, to our MA program at Richmond, The American International University
in
London.

The Richmond MA, is unique in its intercultural orientation. The MA recognizes
and embraces new thought and research methodologies in the field. Now in its
fifth year, our 12 month, accredited program offers students the opportunity to
examine appropriate methods for the study of both Western and non-Western art.
There is also sustained contextual and theoretical consideration of the
interrelationships between visual culture and the historical movements of
Colonialism, Orientalism, and Primitivism.

In the second semester, there is an option to study Modernism in London or to
spend the semester at the University's study center in Florence, Italy focusing
on art and cultural interaction during the Renaissance.

In addition to an outstanding teaching faculty, the Richmond program offers
students the opportunity to study in the splendid libraries, galleries, and
museums of London and Florence. London is the hub of the modern art world;
Florence, the hub of Renaissance studies. The diversity of art experiences
available via these resources creates a challenging environment for engagement
with the visual arts.

We welcome the opportunity of working with your students. Please note that the
deadline for submission is the 31 March, 2003. Feel free to contact me directly
by email at <robert.wallisrichmond.ac.uk> or by telephone on
