3rd AhAU International Congress
EUROPEAN AND TRANSATLANTIC CORRESPONDENCE IN THE HISTORIOGRAPHY OF ARCHITECTURE

The Association of historians of Architecture and Urbanism (AhAU) invites all researchers with an interest in the historiography of architecture to present their scientific papers in the framework of the 3rd AhAU International Congress. The gathering will be a multidisciplinary forum open to issues and areas of knowledge that have to do with the theme of discussion.
Proposals will be individual and should count 700-1000 words. Each must indicate its chosen area and be sent in with two representative images, a selected bibliography, and a brief resumé of the author (maximum 2 pages). Rather than a copious series of presentations, the congress once again aims for a series of debates where the speakers can deliberate on the various issues raised by the theme at hand.
In submitting their proposals, applicants commit to attending the congress and presenting their papers orally if they are accepted. The proposals accepted will be grouped by issue, and be presented on stage in no more than 20 minutes, allowing for debate at the end of each session. Members of the Scientific Committee will moderate the discussion during a panel for which more time has been allotted than in previous congresses, giving more latitude for the completion and comparison of ideas. It is the congress’s ultimate objective to contrast papers, in such a way that these—and their results—will form the benchmark for a new look at the historiography of architecture.
When proposals are approved, a style guide will be provided for the definitive writing of papers, and all papers examined and accepted will be published in the Congress Proceedings, with an ISBN, on payment of the registration fee.
The official languages of the congress will be Spanish and English. Some sessions may be held entirely in English, depending on the number of proposals received in this language.
