The Department of Art History at Tel Aviv University is seeking candidates for a senior academic position in the field of art of the Mediterranean cultures: Hellenistic, Roman and Late Antiquity; the Byzantine world; and East Mediterranean cultures (Egypt and Mesopotamia).
A background in the area of material culture in the Ancient World and in archaeology will constitute an advantage.
The position is open to candidates who hold a Ph.D., with a proven research ability and experience in teaching at a university. We emphasize that the position requires teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the fields of Classical Art. Any additional experience in the various fields with which the Department engages will constitute an advantage.
The position is a formal one and can lead to tenure at the end of the trial period.
The academic rank and employment track will be determined according to the skills and experience of the candidate.
The appointment process will be carried out in accordance with the University regulations for the appointment of new staff, subject to confirmation by the authorised academic institutions.
