Der Workshop Accesos móviles widmet sich der modernen und zeitgenössischen Kunst Lateinamerikas. Die kritische Auseinandersetzung mit verschiedenen Diskurspraktiken steht dabei im Fokus. Die verallgemeinernde Bezeichnung ‹lateinamerikanische Kunst› birgt die Gefahr, Kunst und Kontinent als äquivalente Parameter zu verhandeln und folglich ästhetisch-politische Fragen primär innerhalb des geopolitischen Rahmens zu deuten.
Wie kann einer statischen Einordnung der Kunst auf der Grundlage von geografischen Kriterien entgegengewirkt werden? Welches Potential liegt in künstlerischen und kuratorischen Strategien sowie wissenschaftlichen Untersuchungsansätzen, um Dichotomien wie ‹Eigenes und Fremdes›, ‹Zentrum und Peripherie› oder ‹West und Rest› zu identifizieren und zu überwinden?
Der Workshop setzt sich zum Ziel, grundlegende Methoden und Theorien vor dem Hintergrund einer globalen Kunstgeschichte zu diskutieren und über alternative Zugänge (Accesos móviles) nachzudenken.

El taller Accesos móviles propone una discusión sobre arte moderno y contemporáneo en América Latina, cuyo objeto es abordar críticamente las prácticas discursivas sobre la denominación misma de “arte latinoamericano”.
El término “arte latinoamericano” corre el riesgo de relacionar arte (producción artística) y geografía (lugar de producción) de manera indisociable, y permite cuestionar geopolíticamente la relación entre estética y política.
¿Cómo podemos replantear una visión homogénea del arte basada en criterios geográficos? ¿Qué potencial subyace tanto en las estrategias artísticas y curatoriales como en las investigaciones científicas para identificar y superar dicotomías tales como ‹el yo y el otro›, ‹centro y periferia› u ‹oeste y resto›?
Dentro del marco de la historia global del arte, este taller reflexiona, a través de la discusión metodológica y teórica, sobre los planteamientos alternativos (Accesos móviles) del arte en América Latina.

The workshop Accesos móviles offers a platform of exchange for young researchers to discuss Modern and Contemporary Art produced by Latin American artists. It focuses on the critical analysis of multilayered discourses on the subject.
The use of the generalized term ‹Latinamerican Art› brings to the fore the issue of associating art and geographies. Therefore, aesthetic and political questions are primarily interpreted in relation to geopolitical conditions.
How can we reframe a homogenous vision of art based on geographical criteria?
What potential lies in artistic and curatorial strategies as well as in research approaches to identify and overcome dichotomies such as ‹Self and Other›, ‹Center and Periphery› or ‹West and Rest›?
Within the framework of global art history, the objective of this workshop is to reflect on major methods and theories and to consider alternative approaches (Accesos móviles) related to art and Latin America.
