The symposium seeks to highlight different divisions of the fields of knowledge and art production as well as politics and wage labor, and how these divisions face a permanent process of negotiation at universities and art schools. The questionof the development and the current state of the Division of Labour, of Work, of Knowledge and the Sensible, of Spaces and Times goes beyond mere theory; it also entails the practice of current divisions and partitions. In light of this we would like to give an account of the fact that political, artistic, scholarly work, labor and reproduction work/activity are very often carried out in personal union, that is to say by one and the same individual. Without claiming that existing divisions and forms of discipline would be easy to overcome, and mindful of our privileges as knowledge workers and artists, we would like to engage with the possibilities of not being divided, partitioned and separated in such ways.
