International Symposium: Arte Povera and beyond: Milan, Turin, Rome

Italian Cultural Institute, London, March 12, 2011

To coincide with the Pino Pascali exhibition, organised by the Camden Arts Centre, “Arte Povera and beyond: Milan, Turin, Rome,” brings together six speakers to reflect on Italian art practices of the 1960s. The symposium will focus on the emergence of new expressive modes along the Turin-Milan-Rome axis. Speakers (Ester Coen, Nicholas Cullinan, Gabriele Guercio, Robert Lumley, Matilde Nardelli, Tommaso Trini) will be examining the significance and extent to which art practices were reconfigured through exhibition strategies, transatlantic exchanges, the integration of photography and experiments with cinema.

The event has been organised and supported through the Centre for the Study of Contemporary Art at UCL and the Research Department of the London Consortium in collaboration with Camden Arts Centre and the Italian Cultural Institute.

Registration is required. To book tickets please contact the Camden Arts Bookshop on +44 (0)20 7472 5500
