The Centro Internazionale di Studi di Architettura Andrea Palladio (Vicenza) and the Stiftung Bibliothek Werner Oechslin (Einsiedeln) offer the opportunity to develop a research project in the humanities thanks to the TABLINUM Fellowships. The aim of this initiative is to promote rigorous research, and in particular historical research on sources and the investigation of contexts.
The programme has been running since 2024 thanks to the support of Friends of Palladio and the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation.
The fellowships, which last between one and three months, will preferably be awarded to researchers born on or after 1 January 1987, regardless of their nationality or background.
Scholarship description
The fellowship is for the purpose of developing a research project in the humanities involving two institutions, possibly with a stay in both: the Centro Internazionale di Studi di Architettura Andrea Palladio, Vicenza and the Stiftung Bibliothek Werner Oechslin, Einsiedeln
Please be aware that the 2027 grants are only to be used in Vicenza.
Keywords:
culture + method: two architecture and humanities libraries lay great store by the historical aspect of their disciplines and believe in a research method based on the exploration of contexts.
internationality + multiculturality: we encourage scholars to go beyond their own countries to broaden their range of enquiry.
complementarity: we bring together partly overlapping and partly diverse resources and skills.
community: we create a community of scholars who will leave tangible signs of their research experience (e.g. commentary on/translation of a book or part of a book) that will give rise to further discussion.
Regulations
The next fellowships will be available in 2027 for a minimum period of 1 month and a maximum of 3 months, starting in March. Proposals for different durations will be considered, if justified by the research project.
The fellowship, financed by the two institutions, covers the following costs for each institution:
Accommodation
Insurance
Library access
Workstation (scanner, photocopier, WiFi)
Payment of 2,000 euros a month
The fellowship is addressed to researchers of any nationality preferably born after 1 January 1987. Selection is made on the basis of the submitted research project, curriculum vitae and recommendation letter(s) (minimum one, maximum three).
