Pellegrino Tibaldi between Milan and Spain: Architecture and the Arts.

On the occasion of the fifth centenary of the presumed birth of Pellegrino Tibaldi (1527–2027), the Politecnico di Milano and the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore intend to promote a study day - Milan, September 2027 - dedicated to new documentary discoveries, reports, and fresh critical interpretations regarding the activity of Pellegrino Tibaldi (both as artist and architect) in Milan.

More than thirty years after the Milan conferences (1987 and 1996) and twenty years since the Bologna conference (2006), and in synergy with other events dedicated to celebrating this anniversary, the study day aims to provide a forum for dialogue among scholars to discuss ongoing research and future perspectives. The purpose of this meeting is twofold: the 500th anniversary of his birth serves both as an invitation for scholars to present new findings aimed at updating the catalogue of Pellegrino’s works in Italy and Spain, and as an opportunity to promote, at an international level, the exchange of ideas and diverse approaches to assess the significance of the artist's presence in Milan. The conference, spread over two days, will address his work as an artist and his work as an architect.

Proposals
The proposals (a 200-word abstract, including the title, for presentations of up to 20 minutes, in either Italian or English) must be submitted along with a short CV no later than December 9, 2026, to the following email address: convegno.tibaldioutlook.it
The selection of proposals will be carried out by the scientific committee by January 30, 2027. The conference proceedings will be published.

The study day is expected to take place between September 6 and 10, 2027. The exact date and venue will be published by a later date.
