Artistic Encounters between Taiwan and Spain (Madrid/online, 11-12 May 26)

Complutense University of Madrid, Spain / online, May 11–12, 2026

Roberto Riccardo Alvau, Complutense University of Madrid

International Art Symposium Bǎodǎo 2026.
Artistic Encounters between Taiwan and Spain.

This international seminar will explore the current landscape of art policies and curatorial practices in Taiwan through a hybrid format that includes both in-person and online presentations, as well as a workshop on curatorial methodologies.

The aim is to shed light on three key curatorial approaches that have shaped the development of contemporary art in Taiwan: the independent and underground curating of alternative art spaces; the institutional impact of biennials and temporary exhibitions; and the complex role of public museum collections and their significance today.

The seminar can be attended either in person or online, and all content will be recorded and made freely available online. Certificates of attendance will be issued upon request.
