The Research Group "Art Production and Art Theory in the Age of Global Migration" of the Ulmer Verein für Kunst- und Kulturwissenschaften e.V. cordially invites the interested public to join four hybridly organized talks of the "Migratory Lectures" series. The itinerant and broadly accessible format will focus on the question of "how to world the global" in the field of art history and is hosted by Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf this term (in room 2201.HS 2A). Distinguished junior and senior experts of artistic positions and movements since 1945 will highlight relational, migratory and transcultural perspectives, when addressing specific conflicting narratives related with nationally, indigeneously or globally configured art historiography. They will present show cases situated across Japan and the USA, in Brazil, along the Spanish/Maroccan border and in Germany, to highlight artistic negotiation of migratory and other border-crossing experiences.
The detailed programm and information how to join online via WebEx without prior registration can be viewed here: https://www.ag-kunst-migration.de/deutsch/workshops-tagungen-talks/migratory-lectures-online-2026/
All lectures will take place on a Tuesday, from 16:30 to 18:00. They are conducted either in German or English as indicated in the titles:
