CALL FOR PAPERS 14/2026 (English text below).

La rivista «Studi neoclassici», nata con lo scopo di pubblicare i risultati dell'attività promossa dall'’Istituto di ricerca per gli studi su Canova e il Neoclassicismo’ di Bassano del Grappa, dal 2016 costituisce uno strumento di divulgazione delle ricerche dell'Edizione nazionale delle opere di Antonio Canova che confluiscono nelle edizioni critiche dell’enorme epistolario canoviano, con gli approfondimenti storici, biografici, stilistici che la materia richiede. I maggiori studiosi del Neoclassicismo hanno accettato di far parte del Comitato di garanzia e del Consiglio scientifico della rivista.

La rivista si propone all'attenzione degli studiosi in vari campi di ricerca, dalla storia alla letteratura, dall’archeologia alla storia dell'arte, dalla storia della cultura alla critica d’arte alla storia del collezionismo, dalla storia della musica a quella della danza e del costume. Gli articoli della rivista seguono la medesima impostazione metodologica che ha caratterizzato le “Settimane canoviane”, di connettere esperienze artistiche e culturali diverse, dalla letteratura alla storia dell'arte, alla storia e alle altre arti comprese nel periodo storico compreso tra la seconda metà del XVIII ed i primi decenni del XX secolo, tra Rococò e Purismo, con l’intenzione di proporre un quadro completo e non solo specialistico del tema.

La rivista «Studi neoclassici» pubblica numeri monografici e numeri di argomento libero afferenti al periodo storico della rivista, ed è classificata in classe A dall’ANVUR. I testi, selezionati mediante una procedura di "Call for papers", sono tutti - tranne rare e motivate eccezioni - sottoposti a procedura di "revisione tra pari" mediante procedimento cosiddetto "a doppio cieco" (double blind peer review). Nel caso delle suddette eccezioni è la Direzione, nella sua collegialità, che dopo attento esame si assume la responsabilità dell'accettazione dei testi.
Il numero 14, 2026 ospiterà articoli ad argomento libero e una/ due recensioni di volumi pubblicati nel 2023 e 2024, afferenti al periodo storico coperto dalla rivista.

The magazine “Studi Neoclassici", created with the aim of publishing the results of the activity promoted by the ‘Istituto di ricerca per gli studi su Canova e il Neoclassicismo’ (‘Research Institute for Studies on Canova and Neoclassicism') of Bassano del Grappa, is now a tool for disseminating research of the Edizione Nazionale delle Opere di Antonio Canova (‘'National edition of the works of Antonio Canova'), that converges in the critical editions of the enormous Canova's epistolary, with the historical, biographical, stylistic insights that matter requires. The major scholars of Neoclassicism constitute the Garantee and the Scientific Committees of the journal.

The magazine proposes itself to the attention of scholars in various fields of research, from history to literature, from archeology to art history, from the history of culture to art criticism to the history of collecting, from the history of music to that of dance and costume. The journal articles follow the same methodological approach that characterized the "Canovian Weeks", ie the one of connecting different artistic and cultural experiences, from literature to art history, to history and to other arts included in the historical period between second half of the eighteenth and the first decades of the twentieth century, from Rococò to Purism, with the intention of proposing a complete and not only specialized picture of the theme.

The journal "Studi Neoclassici" publishes monographic numbers and free topic numbers relating to the historical period of the journal. It is classified by ANVUR in A class. So, the texts, selected through a "Call for papers" procedure, are all - except for rare and justified exceptions - subject to the ‘double blind peer review’ procedure. In the case of the aforementioned exceptions it is the management, in its collegiality, that, after careful examination, assumes the responsibility of accepting the texts.

The number 14, 2026 will host free articles and one / two reviews of volumes relating to the period covered by the magazine, edited in 2023 and 2024. Papers related on Canova, his life and works, his relashionship with the other artists of his time, architects, painters, artisans and sculptors, writers, players and his peers and follower’s artworks will be preferred.

The texts can be presented in Italian, French, English or Spanish, must not exceed 35,000 characters (spaces and notes included) and must be sent, by May 30, 2026, to the scientific directors of the review at the email addresses: giuliana.ericanigmail.com; gianpavesegmail.com.
