We are pleased to announce that Edgar Degas: Catalogue Raisonné of Paintings and Works on Paper has joined our roster of digital projects.
The project was founded by Teresa Krasny (OpAL Art Ltd.) in 2021 to update, amend, and expand the catalogue raisonné by P.A. Lemoisne published in 1946 and its 1984 supplement (Theodore Reff and Philippe Brame). A first installment of the digital catalogue was released in September 2024, featuring works currently in public collections in the U.K. and Ireland, providing new and significant information, and links to foundational research resources and contemporary scholarship.
We are honored to be entrusted with this endeavor and welcome researchers to utilize this resource. Our team will continue the work of updating and expanding on the previously-published catalogue raisonné with the enhancement of digital CR publishing, whose foundational technology is in development alongside the increasing breadth of resources and material made available for this major artist.
We invite you to forward this to colleagues for whom this project may be of interest, and to be in touch with us with any feedback by emailing us at infowpi-art.org.
With our best regards,
The Edgar Degas Research Team
