I Tatti, The Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies in Florence, Italy, warmly invites applications for the 2025–2026 academic year.
We offer the following ten fellowships (n.b. deadlines vary):
I Tatti Fellowship (twelve months; deadline: October 15) for post-doctoral research in any aspect of the Italian Renaissance, broadly understood historically to include the period from the 14th to the 17th century and geographically to include transnational dialogues between Italy and other cultures (e.g. Latin American, Mediterranean, African, Asian etc.).
Wallace Fellowship (four or six months; deadline November 15) for scholars who explore the historiography and impact of the Italian Renaissance in the Modern Era (19th-21st centuries).
Berenson Fellowship (four or six months; deadline November 15) for scholars who explore "Italy in the World." Projects should address the transnational dialogues between Italy and other cultures.
Digital Humanities Fellowship (four or six months; deadline November 15) for projects that cut across traditional disciplinary boundaries and actively employ digital technology.
Craig Hugh Smyth Fellowship (four or six months; deadline November 15) for curators and conservators pursuing advanced research in any aspect of the Italian Renaissance.
David and Julie Tobey Fellowship (four or six months; deadline November 15) To support research on drawings, prints, and illustrated manuscripts from the Italian Renaissance.
Marlène and Paolo Fresco Fellowship in African Studies (six months; deadline November 15) for scholars working on cultural exchanges between the African continent and the Mediterranean world
I Tatti/Dumbarton Oaks Joint Fellowship (ten months; deadline November 1) for early and mid-career scholars who explore cross-cultural contacts in and beyond the late medieval and early modern Mediterranean. Fellows will spend the fall term in Florence and the spring term in Washington, D.C.
Warburg / I Tatti Joint Fellowship (ten months; deadline November 15) for early and mid-career scholars in the fields of history and history of science. Fellows will spend the fall term in London and the spring term in Florence.
I Tatti / Museo Nacional del Prado Joint Fellowship (nine months; deadline November 15) for art historians working on projects that address the relationship between Spain and Italy. Fellows will spend the fall term in Madrid and the spring term in Florence.
