LA DIANA | Rivista semestrale della Scuola di Specializzazione in Beni Storico Artistici dell’Università degli studi di Siena

The former ‘Rassegna d'arte e vita senese’ (1926-1934), later named ‘Annuario della Scuola di Specializzazione in Archeologia e Storia dell’arte dell’Università degli studi di Siena’ (1995-1999), most recently only in ‘Storia dell'arte’ (2000-2005), «La Diana» is back today in a new online edition as a six-monthly journal of the Scuola di Specializzazione in Beni Storico Artistici of the University of Siena.

Boarded by a high-profile international scientific committee, the journal publishes both original research carried out within the School and contributions by Italian and foreign scholars in the three disciplinary areas of Medieval, Modern and Contemporary Art History, with particular attention to the contexts of production and reception of the artworks and the history of culture and ideas.

The three sections in which the journal is divided – Studies, Contributions, Reviews – reflect a multi-layered focus on the contemporary debate: from the ‘pure’ art-historical research to the repercussions on the policies for the conservation and the enhancement of cultural heritage, from methodological reflection to the discussion about the most recent exhibitions and the latest books published.

All interested contributors are invited to submit their proposals at any time during the year, scrupulously complying with the editorial standards of the journal and specifying the section for which they are applying: max. 60,000 characters for the Studies section, max. 30,000 characters for the Contributions section. The images accompanying the articles (max. 15 for the Studios and max. 8 for the Contributions) must arrive with a resolution of 300 dpi and free of royalties.

Proposals wishing to be considered for the issue currently in preparation (5 | 2023) must be received by and no later than April 30, 2023.
Each proposal will be examined in the first instance by the Editorial Board and the Scientific Committee and then, after this first selection, submitted to the evaluation of two anonymous readers, according to the double-blind peer-review principle, for publication.
