Hertziana Grants for Art Historians in Ukraine Funded by Getty.
The Bibliotheca Hertziana – Max Planck Institute for Art History is offering emergency grants to Ukrainian art historians under the impact of Russia’s war against Ukraine with support from the Getty Foundation as part of its Connecting Art Histories initiative. One-time grants of 5000 EUR will be available for scholars who have not left Ukraine to support their scientific activities on-site. Mid-career and senior researchers five years after obtaining their Ph.D. or with several years of working experience in the field are invited to apply for a grant to be spent in Ukraine. The grantees will present their research in online workshops organized by the Bibliotheca Hertziana as part of its #ScienceForUkraine initiative. Candidates are requested to submit their application in PDF format online (https://recruitment.biblhertz.it), consisting of a) a curriculum vitae including a publications list, and b) a description of their research project on a maximum of one page, by February 5, 2023. Applications and workshop presentations are preferred in English, but translation will be provided upon request. The workshops will be held at the beginning of March, after which the grants will be issued. For inquiries, please contact grantforurkainegmail.com.
