This issue features a number of contributions that touch upon many different aesthetic aspects of Italian pop culture, such as sociopolitical science fiction, sociolinguistics of memes, comics adaptation of the Divine Comedy, comics literary reviews, feminist comics, glocalized pop imagery, female pop singers, social implication of Italian rebus magazines, as well as interviews to Italian artists variously active in the pop field.

Giulio Armeni, Roman writer, author and memarolo, runs the satirical project "Filosofia Coatta," which has more than 170,000 followers on Facebook and Instagram. In this conversation, Armeni reads and comments on some of his "memeromanzi" to delve into a reflection on the role of memes and memers in the contemporary media landscape, discussing their relationship with other pop languages and the public's reception of memetic content.
