The incoming Head of School will work with leaders across our disciplines to advance this ambition.

The School is one of twelve in the University and is located in Old Aberdeen. By headcount the School comprises 67 academics, 10 administrative staff and over 300 PhD students. By full-time equivalent, we have around 997 students in total, 743 undergraduates, 193 PGR and 30 PGT.
Candidates must hold a PhD in a relevant subject and be dynamic, collegial, and creative, with outstanding communication skills, and ambition to lead the School towards fulfilling the University’s Aberdeen 2040 strategic aims. We welcome applicants with a background in any of the School’s disciplines areas.

The Head of School appointment is for five years in the first instance and is made subject to the usual terms and conditions of employment of the University. An additional honorarium payment for headship applies over and above the academic salary.
