CALL FOR CHAPTERS: CULTURAL ENCOUNTERS AND TOLERANCE THROUGH ANALYSES OF SOCIAL AND ARTISTIC EVIDENCES: FROM HISTORY TO THE PRESENT

Recently, for various reasons, cultures around the world have tended to become more inward looking and aggressive in defending their socio-cultural domain. However, throughout history, many civilizations have established extensive and long-term cultural ties with different cultural groups; such interactive networks having in turn activated the acculturation, syncretism and transculturation phenomena. From past to present, we know that cultures endeavor to protect themselves and endure through actuated language, religion, nationality, and even war. Despite ideological schisms that emerged between civilizations from time to time, our hunger for cultural encounters and coexistence shines through. We also witness cultural assets more mobile then ideologies across the boundaries as it can be more often seen in the art and architectural examples. This book helps us to better understand how encounters with other cultures are reflected in our artistic productions and behaviors, especially those that emerged as a response to cultural confrontations. This editorial work aims to assemble the various tools that scholars have used for analyzing how we encounter and coexist with different cultures. The book provides evidence of this remarkable phenomenon of humanity and guides the reader to understand how we consolidate our indulgences of other cultures visually and materially.

Intolerance of humanity encourages negative emotions between cultures. The framework of this book helps to bring to light different histories and present evidence of cultural encounters, coexistence and acculturation. It provides creditable examples of how cultural mechanisms work and how these mechanisms activate the inevitable adaptation process, which may promote people’s psychological vision to improve today’s level of tolerance. It shows cultural assets more mobile then ideologies across the boundaries as it can be more often seen in cultural arena. The aim of this work is helping the reader appreciate the prolific benefits of humanity being together. It provides a key analysis of the phenomenon of how cultural encounters influence coexistence and describes the academic approaches that underpin them. The book also shares useful examples of the kinds of visual and material evidence used for scientific enquiry.

Submission Procedure
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before June 16, 2021, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by June 30, 2021 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines.Full chapters are expected to be submitted by August 29, 2021, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.

Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Cultural Encounters and Tolerance Through Analyses of Social and Artistic Evidences: From History to the Present. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process.
