The conference will feature two keynote addresses: one by Robin Simon,
editor of "The British Art Journal" and author of "Hogarth, France &
British
Art", and a second by illustrator Quentin Blake on his approach to humour
and how it informs his work, in particular his recent sequences of pictures
for hospitals. Additionally, Dean Mobbs, a post-doctoral fellow in Cognitive
and Behavioural Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge, will present an
introductory lecture on how the mind processes humour and laughter.
