Terra Foundation for American Art Travel Grants
The Terra Foundation for American Art is offering, in partnership with the
Courtauld Institute of Art, London, the Institut National de l'Histoire de
l'Art, Paris, and the John F. Kennedy Institut für Nordamerikastudien,
Freie Universität, Berlin, six travel grants for researchers whose
research project concerns American art or transatlantic artistic
relations. Foreign nationals of all European countries can apply for these
grants according to their level of study.

Three grants of US$5,000 each will be offered to researchers at
doctoral level.
Three grants of US$7,500 each will be offered to post-doctoral
researchers who have been awarded their doctorate within the past ten years.
Applications must be sent to either the Courtauld Institute of Art, the
Institut National de l'Histoire de l'Art or the John F. Kennedy Institut
für Nordamerikastudien and must include

The applicant's curriculum vitae
A description of the applicant's research project demonstrating
the need for a sojourn in the United States of America
Two letters of recommendation. (For doctoral candidates, one of
these letters should be by the dissertation advisor.)
All documents must be written in English.
Pre-selection of candidates will be undertaken by each of the three
institutions named above and will be followed by a final selection in
March 2009 by a five-member international jury. Selection results will be
published in April 2009.
