Why Sculpture, Why Here?
5 October 2007, Tate Modern
This forum will explore the global contexts of contemporary sculptural
practice, with artists originally from Cuba, China, India, Japan and Nigeria
giving short presentations about their work. This will be a unique
opportunity to hear why artists from across the world continue to find
sculpture a relevant language, and how its international currency is shaped
through origin, migration, and international circumstance. Participating
artists include: Abel Barroso, Maria Magdalena Campos Pons, Dilomprizulike,
Subodh Gupta, Huang Yong Ping and Mamiko Otsubo.
Organised by the Henry Moore Institute with iniva, London.
£20 (£15 concessions), to book visit www.tate.org.uk or call 0207 8878888
