DEUTSCH
"Renewing Ceramics" bietet Wissenschaftlern, Akademikern, Journalisten sowie
Künstlern, Designern und Unternehmern ein Forum, um neue Kontakte zu knüpfen
und zu debattieren.
Unter der Schirmherrschaft des Bayerischen Staatsministers für Wissenschaft,
Forschung und Kunst, Dr. Thomas Goppel, lädt dieser Kongress dazu ein, sich
mit der Zukunft der Keramik zu befassen und neue Richtungen aufzuzeigen.
International anerkannte Experten geben in Vorträgen, Diskussionsgruppen,
Präsentationen und Exkursionen Einblicke in neueste ökonomische, technische
und kreative Tendenzen aus der Welt der Keramik.
Während der vier Tage ist die Möglichkeit zu einer engeren Kooperation
zwischen Universitäten, freier Wirtschaft und Museen auf international hohem
Niveau gegeben. Die Ergebnisse des Kongresses werden in einem Tagungsband
festgehalten und veröffentlicht, um diese einem weiteren Fachpublikum
zugänglich zu machen.
Ein umfangreiches Rahmenprogramm rundet die Veranstaltung ab.
Der Veranstaltungsort, eine ehemalige Porzellanfabrik, heute das größte
Spezialmuseum für Porzellan in Europa beherbergt, bietet Thema und
Teilnehmern einen würdigen Rahmen.
"Renewing Ceramics" findet vom 20. bis 23. September 2004 im Europäischen
Industriemuseum für Porzellan in Selb-Plößberg/ Nordbayern statt

ENGLISH
The international congress "Renewing Ceramics" is a great opportunity to
meet well-known scientists and academics as well as popular journalists,
authors, artists, designers, economists of the ceramic field in Europe.
Joining this congress you are able to get up-dated on the latest economic
and creative aspects as well as technical innovations. An interesting range
of lectures, discussions groups, presentations and field trips invites you
to debate about a future for ceramics.
This four days-Congress is a must-attend event for ceramic experts who want
to take the chance of a closer co-operation between universities, industrial
enterprises and museums on a high international level.
A commentary, being published afterwards, will present all results of
discussions, lectures and discussion groups. Naturally, a social programme
will round off the international congress.
The ceramic congress is held in the historic surrounding of a former
porcelain factory, today, Europe's major specialised museum in porcelain.
Under the patronage of the Bavarian State Minister for Sciences, Research
and Arts, Dr Thomas Goppel, "Renewing Ceramics" is hosted by the
Europäisches Industriemuseum für Porzellan in Selb-Plößberg/North Bavaria
from Sept 20 to 23, 2004.
