JOB: Visiting Historian of African or African American Art
The University of Dayton.

Non-tenure track, one-year, non-renewable appointment, begins August 2002.
Salary & benefits competitive.

Junior and Senior scholars encouraged to apply. Specialist in the study of
the visual cultures of Africa, African American, and/or of the African
Diaspora. Teaching responsibilities include a 2-2 course load comprised each
term of one upper-division course in area of specialization and one section
of the undergraduate, non-chronological, thematically-based course
"Introduction to the Visual Arts" for non-majors.

Active research agenda, minimal departmental committee work, one
university-wide lecture, and involvement with college community expected.
Ph.D or ABD and teaching experience required; publications preferred. Send

upper-division courses AND one-page statement of teaching philosophy.
