The Middle Ages in the Post-Medieval World: Reception and Interpretation:
An interdisciplinary conference on all aspects of the "afterlife" of
medieval culture, this is the 29th annual Sewanee Medieval Colloquium, April
12-13, 2002.

Keynote lecturers: Eamon Duffy; R. Howard Bloch, Stephen G. Nichols.
Please submit abstract and brief curriculum vitae by 1 October 2001.

Topics might include -- but are not limited to: the Middle Ages in the
Renaissance; the Middle Ages in American culture; the Middle Ages in
popular culture; medievalism; influence of the medieval in the visual arts;
history of scholarship on the Middle Ages; teaching the Middle Age, past and
present.

Papers accepted to be submitted in final form by 20 February 2002.
